Arches National Park

Arches, located in the high desert near the heart of the Colorado Plateau in eastern Utah, is a place of incomparable beauty containing more natural arches than anywhere in the world, over 2000 of them. They range from three feet across at the base to the 306 feet opening that Landscape Arch spans.

The natural forces of wind and water, through erosion, have sculpted the sedimentary rock layers into a magnificent landscape of shapes, forms, contrasting colors, and textures that delight the senses. In addition to the arches, vertical fins, balanced rocks, towering spires, and eroded monoliths also add to this unique and magical landscape.
